1. Who We Are

ReviveGuard is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product that provides managed WordPress website protection — including uptime monitoring, automated backups, WordPress and plugin updates, SSL/domain tracking, and a client dashboard. ReviveGuard is operated by WaybackRevive LLC ("we", "us", "our").

Our website is reviveguard.com. Our client application is hosted at app.reviveguard.com.

For privacy enquiries, please contact: legal@reviveguard.com

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account & Billing Information

When you create an account or subscribe to a plan, we collect:

  • Full name and email address
  • Billing address (collected by our payment processor, Paddle)
  • Payment method details — these are never stored on our servers; all payment processing is handled by Paddle (our Merchant of Record)

2.2 Website & Technical Data

As part of providing our monitoring service, we collect technical information about the websites you connect to ReviveGuard, including:

  • Website URL, domain name, and IP address
  • WordPress version, PHP version, and installed plugins list
  • Uptime check results and response times
  • SSL certificate and domain expiry dates
  • Backup metadata (file size, timestamp, status)
  • Activity logs and event data generated by our WordPress plugin

2.3 Usage Data

We may collect standard web analytics data when you visit our marketing website, including IP address, browser type, pages visited, referral source, and time spent. We use this data in aggregate, anonymised form only.

2.4 Communications

If you contact us by email, we retain the content of that correspondence to handle your request and maintain a support history.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Provision and operate your ReviveGuard subscription (account creation, dashboard access, billing)
  • Monitor your connected websites and send automated alerts
  • Perform scheduled backups and store them securely in cloud storage
  • Apply WordPress core and plugin updates on your behalf
  • Send transactional emails (alerts, monthly reports, billing receipts)
  • Respond to support enquiries
  • Improve our product through anonymised usage analytics
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Where applicable under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance — processing necessary to provide the service you subscribed to
  • Legitimate interests — security monitoring, fraud prevention, product improvement
  • Legal obligation — complying with applicable laws and regulations
  • Consent — where we have explicitly asked for and received your consent (e.g., marketing emails)

5. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

We share your data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate ReviveGuard:

  • Paddle.com — payment processing and subscription management (Merchant of Record). Paddle's privacy policy: paddle.com/legal/privacy
  • Cloud storage providers — secure, encrypted backup storage
  • Email delivery services — transactional email (alerts, reports, receipts)
  • Hosting infrastructure — our application runs on servers provided by cloud hosting providers (EU/US region)

All third-party providers are contractually required to protect your data and may only use it to provide the specific service to us.

We may disclose your data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ReviveGuard, our users, or the public.

6. Cookies

Our marketing website (reviveguard.com) uses minimal cookies:

  • Session cookies — essential for the client application to function (authentication, CSRF protection)
  • Analytics cookies — anonymised, aggregate usage data to understand how visitors use our site. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling non-essential cookies will not affect access to our service.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our service. Specifically:

  • Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days after cancellation, to allow for reactivation.
  • After 90 days post-cancellation, your personal data is deleted or anonymised, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records for tax purposes — retained for 7 years).
  • Website backup files are deleted within 30 days of service termination.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restriction — limit how we process your data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email us at legal@reviveguard.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Security

We take the security of your data seriously. Our measures include:

  • TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Encrypted storage for sensitive credentials and backup files
  • Regular security updates applied to our infrastructure
  • Access controls limiting who on our team can access personal data

No system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by law.

10. Children's Privacy

ReviveGuard is a business-to-business SaaS service. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify active subscribers by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
